IBJI CARES Supports Our Communities During This Time Of Need.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has unfolded, we have seen a sudden and drastic increased need for adequate nutrition within our communities, and IBJI CARES is committed to supporting these organizations and the families they are serving.
We want to highlight the great work of several food pantries close to our IBJI facilities that are supplying these needs on a weekly basis. These organizations are providing an invaluable service for those who find themselves suddenly with reduced income, and they are staffed by tireless volunteers who seek out, sort, and distribute donations as demand has multiplied in recent weeks. IBJI CARES will be working with each of these organizations to assist with their unique community needs. We have compiled a list of these food pantries below, all of whom are ready to both accept help and offer it.
Produce Alliance
During this challenging time, at-risk children and their families have limited access to fresh and nutritious produce. Therefore, IBJI CARES is proud to be partnering with Produce Alliance to supply fresh, healthy produce to the families of 1,600 children receiving free and reduced-price school lunches in the Evanston Township during the first week of May.
Thanks to Produce Alliance, IBJI CARES will be able to provide each of these children and their families with several servings of nutrient-rich produce -- including fresh oranges, apples, and carrots.
