Gary S. Shapiro, MD

Dr. Gary Shapiro is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon who practices at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. Dr. Shapiro graduated from the Health Science Center at Syracuse and performed his internship at the New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical Center. He received his residency training at the Hospital for Special Surgery and received dual fellowships in spine and thoracoscopic deformity surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Children's Hospital, San Diego, respectively. Dr. Shapiro is an active participant in spine surgery research and has authored numerous scientific publications and presentations. Dr. Shapiro's is proud to offer compassionate technique and state-of-the-art training for best possible outcomes.
