Need An MRI Diagnostic Test?

MRI Diagnostics: Safe, Comfortable, Accurate

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an accurate and non-invasive way to obtain detailed images of your internal anatomy. Considered the best diagnostic tool for spinal and joint problems, MRI provides our physicians the information they need to make a correct diagnosis without using surgery or ionizing radiation. MRI images help physicians detect damage from disease, injury or aging so they can develop the best treatment plan for you.

MRI is widely used to diagnose accident and sports-related injuries. It presents clear images of the soft-tissue structures near, around, and in bones, even very small tears and injuries to ligaments and muscles.

Everything You Need in One Location

Your time and convenience matter to us. That’s why IBJI MRI Services shares the same location with IBJI physicians and Rehab – so you can see your doctor, get diagnostic tests done, and receive therapy all in one place.

Appointments are available same day or within 24 hours by calling 855-IBJI-MRI (855-425-4674). We offer daily appointments, including early evenings, and Saturdays at two of our key offices.

An Array of MRI Options for Your Comfort

IBJI offers several advanced MRI options for imaging quality and your comfort including high-field, open high-field, and low-field MRI systems.

IBJI was first in the Chicago area to offer an open 1.2 Tesla high-field MRI system, combining the fast, exceptionally high resolution images high-field MRI Systems offer in a spacious open system for comfort. Open MRI scanners are available at several locations and may provide greater comfort for those uncomfortable with closed scans. Additionally, our traditional high-field MRI systems are outfitted to provide greater detail for neurological and specialty studies, while our low-field MRI MRI scanners are specialized for orthopedic studies. IBJI physicians and staff will work with you to determine which MRI unit is best for you.

What Happens During an MRI Scan?

The MRI technologist will take several scans and typically complete them in under an hour. They will stay in contact with you via intercom the throughout the entire process and are happy to play your choice of music while you relax.

Additional Diagnostic Tests Offered

CT (computerized tomography) scanning is also available at IBJI. CT scans function as an alternative method for capturing internal anatomy and provide greater detail and precision than X-rays. At times, 3D image reconstructions of fine anatomical detail are used to aid in diagnosis. Also, CT scans are often utilized with patients who have pacemakers, implanted devices, and prosthetics.

–MR Angiograms produce detailed images of blood vessels, arteries and veins.

–MR Arthrography provides enhanced detection and evaluation of joint pain, ligament tears, swelling, wounded cartilage, bone defects, or abnormal joint movement.
