“In early February of 2021, I fell down the lower part of stairs leading to the garage. I tore three quarters of my tendon attaching my quadriceps to my knee and could not walk. After a brief visit to the hospital, I went to see Dr. Chehab, a doctor recommended to me at IBJI. After 72 years of enduring indifferent and obtuse doctors, who often assume you know things you do not, Dr. Chehab provided a whole different experience. Just by looking at my injury, he knew the problem which was later confirmed by an MRI. He immediately fitted me for a brace through IBJI and carefully showed me how to use my crutches. He reviewed my options and strongly recommended surgery based on his experience with this type of injury. He slowly and carefully reviewed what had happened and how with the surgery I would regain use of my leg. I immediately felt comfortable with him and his knowledge as did my wife. I authorized my surgery and he scheduled it the following week saying that delay would complicate the surgery with scar tissue developing. The operation went well at IBJI surgery center and I was soon on the road to recovery. The surgery had been done so well that the two possible dangerous side effects, blood clots and infection, never became an issue. The scar healed nicely and with therapy I began to regain the use of my leg. I have already discarded my crutches and will within the next few days no longer need my brace. I expect to be driving again soon. Every aspect of my experience exceeded my expectations. On a one to ten scale with ten being the best, I would rate my experience a perfect 10.” – Malcolm C.
