Biography
Dr. Cindy Nahhas is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with expertise in hand and upper extremity conditions. She specializes in the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of nerve compression, arthritis, fractures, tendon injuries, traumatic injuries, and other conditions affecting the hand. She was drawn to hand surgery because of the complexity and attention to detail that it requires, and the way in which it helps patients regain function that is critical for their independence, work, and activities they love. She is dedicated to helping patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options and developing an individualized treatment plan for each patient based on their unique goals.
Dr. Nahhas completed her medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency from the University of Illinois at Chicago. During medical school she dedicated a year to clinical research, developing the skills to critically evaluate and incorporate emerging evidence into her clinical decision making. She went on to complete a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota / HealthPartners Institute where she was trained to treat a wide variety of complex adult and pediatric upper extremity conditions. She is board-eligible and is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons. She feels honored to be caring for the community in which she grew up, in the Northern suburbs of Chicago.
Dr. Nahhas is committed to providing the highest quality of care in the clinic and the operating room, guided by the latest evidence-based medicine. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, being outdoors, traveling, exercising, and getting creative in the kitchen.
Before we start to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options, I want to understand what’s important to you - your daily responsibilities, the activities that fulfill you, and how your condition is affecting them. Then, we will work together and form a treatment plan to get you there.
