Orthopedic Surgeon specialized in General Orthopedics and Hip & Knee Reconstruction
Dr. David Hoffman is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who has been in practice in Chicago since 1985. In that time he has been team physician for five large suburban high schools and two professional teams: the Chicago Power and the Chicago Sting soccer teams. Additionally, he has been team physician to the Chicago Thunder semi-professional football team. Dr. Hoffman has been Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at three Chicago hospitals: Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Columbus Hospital, and currently, St. Joseph Hospital. He is a clinical instructor to the University of Illinois Orthopaedic residents, the Midwest Osteopathic Orthopaedic residents at Illinois Masonic Hospital and the residents at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Dr. Hoffman’s main focus is on joint reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, both arthroscopic and joint replacement. Dr. Hoffman’s treatment philosophy is to understand each of his patient’s concerns and needs, and to address them in a way that is clear and easy to understand. Being well-versed in all aspects of orthopaedics, Dr. Hoffman is trained to operate as needed, but his primary goal is to avoid surgery, being as conservative as possible.
“I emphasize understanding my patient’s concerns and needs to better help them.”
