“I would go to Dr. Chiu and his physical therapy team for sure without a doubt in my mind. No nonsense and got right down to what I needed to get me back to pain free for my left knee. Everything you need is all at the Arlington Heights location. This crew knows what you need and has all the answers. I felt I was in the best hands with everyone. The physical therapy team is so helpful and they work hard to get you on track. I had Megan, Kyle and Samantha, all professional and they help get you the tools you need to do this program at home.” – Debra V.

“I found the Arlington Staff and Dr. Chiu to be excellent, quick and respectful of my time.”

“Dr. Chiu is engaging and made me feel comfortable about my treatment plan and options.”

“I am extremely satisfied with the care I have received from Dr. Chiu! He successfully performed surgery after I suffered a nasty compound fracture of my ankle. A second surgery was needed to remove some of the pins after they were in place for 3 months. I appreciate that Dr. Chiu is always on time for his appointments. He also saw me on very short notice when there was a concern regarding my healing. I appreciate the fact that he is clear in his explanations!”

“I’m a young athlete who had a torn labrum on my right shoulder and was in tremendous pain during competitive swimming, Dr Chiu understood my passion to get back into swimming. He performed surgery, provided a great physical therapy regimen and had me back in the water in 8 months. He showed compassion and confidence in his ability that he would get me back to the sport I love so much!”

“Dr. Chiu is a most efficient surgeon who repaired a torn meniscus in my right knee. Both pre-op and post-op meetings were brief and on-point with Dr. Chiu explaining his procedures and answering questions. He is a personable man – friendly, approachable – and clearly very good at what he does: my walking without a limp is a testament to his skill as an orthopedic surgeon.”

“I had torn my PCL, MCL, my meniscus, and shattered my tibia plateau. He fixed it and when I came out of surgery I gotta say I was in a lot less pain that I thought I would be in. Physical therapy was an extreme challenge, but that was expected because my injury was on the extreme side as well. This guy is the man, and does not sugar coat anything.”

“I had a rotator cuff and bicep tear which Dr. Chiu operated on and now 6 months post-op I am almost good as new. The surgery went great, the post-op course was so much better than I anticipated and I would highly recommend Dr. Chiu for any orthopedic problems or concerns you might have! Terrific surgeon as well as a great person!”

“Dr. Chiu performed two Carpal Tunnel surgeries on my hands. I had a great outcome. Dr. Chiu is always on time with his appointments and gives great feedback. I don’t hesitate recommending him for your surgical needs!”

“Dr. Chiu reconstructed my ACL torn in a ski accident. I am a person in my 50’s and he presented me with all my options. He is very knowledgeable in this area and has lots of informational videos on what is involved in such a surgery. He answered all my questions about activities post Op and time frame for recovery. He is very honest in his assessment regarding the work required on my part before returning to activities which I appreciated. I trust him with my joints.”

“I wanted to thank Dr. Chiu for the great job that he did in repairing my torn meniscus. I was able to see him a day after tearing my meniscus and after an MRI confirmed his initial assumption, I was able to have surgery before 2 weeks had elapsed. It has now been a little more than a month since surgery, and I am doing very well. I would recommend Dr. Chiu to anyone that is looking for a great orthopedic surgeon.”

“Dr. Chiu performed ACL reconstruction on my left knee and he is a master at his craft. He is a very dedicated professional and makes sure his patients are receiving the best medical treatment possible. Dr. Chiu is on the forefront of advancements with ACL surgery. I met with several surgeons and it was an easy choice to have Dr Chiu operate.”

“Dr. Chiu is hands down an expert in all aspects of Orthopedic care. He recently performed my right hip arthroscopic surgery and repaired a tear in my labrum. Everything was explained to me in detail, and the pictures and video of the repair were very cool!”

“I fell on my knee and was in a tremendous amount of pain. Having a great previous experience with IBJI I immediately called to see when I would be able to get an appointment. They were able to see me the same day and got me right in. The office is beautiful, the staff was incredibly nice and Dr. Chiu was excellent. He was very nice, prompt, very helpful, answered all of my questions and gave me spot on advice. I listened to his recommendations and was feeling better very quickly. I absolutely attribute my speedy recovery to Dr. Chiu. With his guidance I will be back to my routine soon. Another great experience with IBJI!! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Chiu and will use him for any future needs!!

“Dr. Chiu has been terrific with his evaluations and diagnosis relative to my recent shoulder issues. Though surgical intervention had been discussed, none has been pursued, as vigorous physical therapy has proven to be very effective. His demeanor is casual, comforting and caring with his medical skills and insights being superb. Dr. Chiu has the expertise to engage in very thoughtful orthopedic medical encounters with patients seeking straight forward answers to their individual maladies. Do not hesitate to contact Dr. Chiu when the need arises.”

“Dr. Michael Chiu reconstructed my ACL and the entire experience was stellar. His passion for what he does and his expertise is clear – I have received useful, detailed explanations prior to and post-surgery. The entire procedure has been a revelation in how high tech the medical industry has become – and to see that Dr. Michael Chiu is in the lead, has confirmed entrusting him with my surgery. During recovery, his instructions and knowledge for my specific case helped me understand the unfamiliar process better and know how much I should push myself and when to take it easy, for my benefit. I would highly recommend Dr. Michael Chiu for all orthopedic procedures.”

“I highly recommend Dr.Chiu. I was pain free immediately after surgery and have had an amazing recovery. I’ve completed 7 marathons since surgery 6 months ago. Great bedside manner and extremely knowledgeable especially in regards to sports medicine!”

“Dr. Chiu is honestly one of the best doctors out there. He always explained all my options so I could make an informed decision about what was best for my wrist. I ended up needing surgery but the outcome was great and I’m now back to normal. Scheduling appointments was always very easy and they always had availability to work around my time. Very organized as well. Chef’s kiss, 5 starts, 10/10 recommend”

“I can’t say enough about Dr. Chiu. He is very personable, professional and just a very genuine person. He helped me so much with my pain. Performed surgery, which went excellent. I am totally pain free on my left hip. I can’t thank him enough. I would highly recommend him. A 10 plus .”

“Dr. Michael Chiu is an extremely knowledgeable, informative and detailed Sports Medicine Physician. Not only did he provide an accurate diagnosis of the medical condition but provided a range of treatment options including those for immediate and long-term consideration. He also was very helpful in describing those treatments in which I was (and was not) a good candidate. I would highly recommend Dr. Chiu to anyone with a Sports Medicine related issue.”

“Dr. Chiu performed a posterior root repair of my meniscus. My surgical outcome was stellar. He truly is an excellent surgeon. My profession is working in the OR assisting many orthopedic surgeons. I knew, without a doubt, that I would choose Dr. Chiu to do my surgery. I have no regrets, as I have returned to my crazy Crossfit workouts at the age of 57.”

“My Bicep Tendon tear at the elbow was unexpected but Dr. Chiu make the repair look simple. The surgery, rehab and follow-ups truly made a great experience.”

“I highly recommend Dr Michael Chiu! I had a bucket handle tear meniscus and a strained ligament surgery, and I everything went very smoothly! The recovery was great and everything healing the right way! I felt like I was not only treated with professionalism but also with heart. From the first appointment to the surgery and post surgery follow ups I felt like he knows exactly what he is doing! Thank you Dr Chiu!”

“Illinois bone and joint is one of the best practices around! The doctors are amazing. My whole family has now seen Dr.Chiu for different and recent injuries. He’s a amazing doctor! He’s straight forward and to the point. He’s good at what he specializes in and loves what he does which makes him a even better doctor and person. He’s very professional and down to earth. He has helped and made my whole family including myself fully heal and recover and get back to our active lifestyle! No restrictions on sports or workouts!! I’ve referred him and the practice to many people and friends. If I ever need another surgery I’m going straight to Dr. Chiu! Thank you Dr. Michael Chiu and the practice of Illinois Bone and Joint.”

“Doctor Chiu helped diagnose my sports hernia as well as other issues I had no idea about. I went to a different doctor before him who just dismissed me and said to take ibuprofen and ice”

“I have a plethora of left knee injuries dating back to 1996 and only saw Dr. Chiu because my last orthopedic had retired. I was and have been pleasantly surprised. Dr. Chiu’s explanation of my X-ray and MRI results (including his ability to give accurate analogies any person could understand if you’re not familiar with the structure of the body) helped to make my own decisions on the fate of my leg. Dr. Chiu is friendly, humble, and thorough and gave me plenty of options without just automatically sending me off to the OR. I never felt like I was “just another patient” in and out of the busy office. He spent the time with me to get to know the activities I enjoyed and the level of activity I desired to get back to. I’m glad to have very easily found the orthopedic doctor I’ll be using for the foreseeable future.”

“I was incredibly impressed with how quickly I was seen at the office. Dr. Chiu was kind enough to see me during his lunch, and I was even able to get X-rays done on the spot. I’ve had knee pain for over two years now, and with a cortisone shot, I’m already starting to feel better. He educated me on the what was being done and guided me through the process. I would recommend family and friends to see Dr. Chiu.””Dr. Chiu is outstanding. He is the only doctor I really felt understood the frustration I was going through and how much I wanted my shoulder fixed. I had been to a few doctors the prior 5-7 years and they had no idea what was wrong. In the first visit, Dr. Chiu figured it out and now for the first time in over a decade my shoulder feels normal. I can’t thank him enough. The front office and support staff are wonderful people too. They were always cheerful and helpful. Especially with insurance situations.”

“After experiencing on and off hip pain for several months I finally saw Dr. Chiu. After examination, x-rays and an MRI I was diagnosed with Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome. After six weeks of his rehab program I have no more hip pain and am feeling 20 years younger. Wish I would’ve come in sooner. Thank you Dr. Chiu!”

“Dr. Chiu saved me from unnecessary surgery and put me on the right path forward for my shoulder. I had moderately torn my rotator cuff and subsequently developed frozen shoulder. My first doctor immediately suggested surgery as the solution. Seeking out a second opinion through Dr. Chiu, he recognized more PT would resolve the issue (and he was absolutely right). I now have full range of motion and would seek out future orthopedic care from him. Dr. Chiu cared about my goals and is far better than other orthopedic doctors I have seen over the years. I highly recommend him!!”

“Excellent outcome. High quality care before, during, after surgery. I will continue to recommend Dr Chiu to those in need of skilled orthopedic surgery.”
