Biography
Rosser W. McCallie, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon. He specializes in periarticular injuries as well as pelvic and acetabular fractures. Specializing in orthopedic trauma allows him to provide care to patients experiencing a time of crisis and help them return to their prior level of function.
Dr. McCallie earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a Masters of Science in physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and an orthopedic surgery fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
During his orthopedic training, Dr. McCallie’s research interests included evaluating combined pelvis and acetabular injuries as well as minimizing narcotic use following orthopedic surgery.
My practice philosophy is centered on restoring function, independence, and quality of life after traumatic injury. I believe in treating every patient with honesty, compassion, and the same care I would want for a member of my own family. My goal is not only to help patients heal, but to help them regain the confidence and ability to return to the lives they value most.
