Biography

Joy has worked as a physical therapist for over 20 years in the Chicagoland area. Joy’s early experience as a gymnast spurred her to pursue interests in sports medicine. She received her athletic training degree in 1996 from Valparaiso University where she worked with Division I athletes of various sports. In 1999, she graduated from Midwestern University with a Master’s in Physical Therapy. Joy’s passion for working with patients led her to expand her expertise and she achieved a post-professional doctoral degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2010 with a concentration in manual therapy. Although she specializes in sports medicine, she also has a certification in lymphedema management for individuals post mastectomy or other diagnosis requiring more specialized manual care. When Joy has free time, she is either running a 5K or spending time transporting and watching her 4 children at a sporting event!
