Joe Castronovo, DPT, MTC, a Chicagoland native, has been practicing orthopedics since 2001 and has been a manager for the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute for over a decade.
Mr. Castronovo is the founder of the Industrial Rehabilitation Programs at IBJI. During his years as the Industrial Rehabilitation Manager, he has performed over 500 Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s) and has developed extensive experience dealing in workers’ compensation issues in Illinois. Also, Mr. Castronovo has helped decrease injury rates for multiple fire, police, and public works departments through his injury prevention program. These injury prevention programs are based on the specific job duties of the trades. Mr. Castronovo also regularly performs utilization reviews, medical record reviews, and has been called upon to give expert legally testimony.
Besides Mr. Castronovo’s focus on workers’ compensation, he is a Certified Manual Therapist through the University of St. Augustine and uses his manual skills to treat patients with all types of orthopedic and joint dysfunctions. Mr. Castronovo prefers working at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute because of the accessibility to the physicians and the teamwork approach to patient care.
