Biography

Ben Detzner, PTA, CSCS has practiced outpatient orthopedics with IBJI since graduating in July 2019.  Ben majored in Exercise Science at Eastern Illinois University and went on to get his PTA degree at Oakton Community College where he graduated in July 2019 and started working at the Wilmette location in August of 2019. Ben has experience working with orthopedic, sports medicine and a wide variety of other patients.

Ben is extremely passionate about helping others, as well as, sports, both playing and watching. He realized that what better way to combine his two passions than to get into the healthcare field where he found Physical Therapy. Although Ben is new to the Wilmette IBJI location, Ben is not new to the company. Ben was a rehab technician for 3 years in Highland Park and also provided personal training (group and private) sessions. During his time at Oakton he did rotations in inpatient, skilled nursing facility and outpatient settings. Since Ben has worked for IBJI before he already knew that their mission was one that resonates with him and one he strives to uphold which led him to now being a PTA here. Ben’s main goal is to get patients healthy again so they can go back to doing the things they love.  

In his free time, Ben enjoys playing lots of softball, working out, playing with his dog and spending time with friends and family.
