Biography

Nicki Ekstrom has been working in outpatient orthopedics since 2014, after graduating from the physical therapy program at Washington University in St. Louis. Having traveled the country and living in several areas of the United States during her clinical rotations for school, she returned to her home, the Chicagoland area, to begin her career. She has a strong interest in sports medicine and loves rehabilitation of athletes. She is excited to begin treating higher level patients at the Libertyville Sports Complex to guide them to recovery and return to full sporting activities. She also enjoys using her movement systems impairment knowledge gained from Washington University in St. Louis to work on proper body mechanics and awareness of patients. She incorporates this approach when working with patients of various diagnoses, ages and skill levels as a basis for improving overall movement and function.

In her free time, Nicki loves to watch Chicago sports, participates in pool/ bowling and softball leagues, play with her two wonderful dogs and enjoys time boating on the Chain-o-lakes.
