Julie Fleming, PT, DPT has been practicing in orthopedics for over four years. Originally from Buffalo, NY, Julie moved to the Midwest for Undergraduate and Physical Therapy school at Marquette University ten years ago. Julie has been living in Chicago and working at the Des Plaines location of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute for the past four and a half years.
Julie enjoys treating a wide variety of diagnoses and is dedicated to using evidence based practice to implement the most up to date treatments. Julie believes in exercise based treatment in conjunction with manual interventions and modalities as needed, and has completed coursework for certification in KinesioTaping for treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, lymphatic dysfunction, and pain management.
Julie’s background as a gymnast for fifteen years forms the basis of her expertise in treatment of gymnasts and cheerleaders. Julie is an active member of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute’s Performing Arts Program, to enhance her knowledge of all of the performing arts and to assist others in the treatment and management of gymnasts.
Julie is recently married and enjoys spending time in Chicago with her new husband, finding all of the dog friendly spots with their new puppy, Walter, and traveling for vacations and family visits.
