Melissa has worked as a Physical Therapist since 2006. With her previous work experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, Melissa quickly took an interest to outpatient orthopedics and graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. Melissa holds priority in Clinical Education and received credentialing as a Clinical Instructor by the American Physical Therapy Association in 2010.
In addition Melissa opted to pursue advanced clinical skills by completing an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program, successfully finishing the program in 2011, and subsequently passing the examination to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2014. Melissa’s areas of interest include Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Trauma. She holds an additional certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist.
Melissa received her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from The George Washington University in 2001, and when not treating patients, serves as a Reservist in the United States Marine Corps.
