Martina joined the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute team at Glenview, Morton Grove and Highland Park offices in 2016. She received her Classical Pilates Certificate from Fitness Formula Clubs in Chicago, and is currently working on her PMA licensing. Her favorite aspect of her certification is the program’s close roots to Pilates’ original Founder Joseph Pilates. Martina’s primary instructor was thought by non- other then Joseph’s first pupil Romana Kryzanowska. Whom is now known as one of the “Elders” praised for keeping the practice alive.
Martina’s passion for Pilates steams from her youth as she has always been an endurance athlete fascinated with mind body connection. She began practicing Pilates 7 years ago after experiencing an injury of her own. She is now dedicated to helping others master the art of Pilates as it prevents injuries; improves posture and implements body awareness.
Martina enjoys working with a verity of different clients, teaching a wide range of exercises. She understands the importance of details and is excited to be teaching Pilates at IBJI. She enjoys the accessibility of the IBJI Physical Therapists, when questions arise during sessions, and appreciates all the knowledge and experience the team shares with each other.
Martina lives in Chicago’s historic German neighborhood Lincoln Square with her husband. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, traveling, painting, and trying new cuisine. Martina is a dedicated runner. Having completed 4 marathons and 8 half marathons, Martina loves a challenge and is always looking for her next big race.
