A Chicago area native, Karen Miley has worked in a variety of Occupational Therapy settings helping clients overcome physical challenges and achieve functional independence. Early in her career, she narrowed her focus and expertise to upper extremity orthopedic impairments. This inspired her to complete an additional Masters of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy with emphasis in upper extremity orthopedics. She joined the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute in 2004. She has performed an essential role in the development of Occupational Therapy services at IBJI, working closely with physicians to promote optimal outcomes for her clients. Using an evidence based approach, she strives to collaborate with her clients, meeting the challenges of each person’s rehabilitation and reaching their individual goals.
