Thomas Cook, PTA, MPH

Thomas Cook, PTA MPH has been practicing since 2018 but has been working in physical therapy clinics for more than 10 years. He completed his BS in Kinesiology at Elmhurst University before going back to school to do his PTA degree. While completing the PTA degree at Elgin Community College, Thom did his Master’s in Public Health at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. In addition to working Full time at Illinois Bone and Joint in Fox River Grove, Thom also works PRN in a Hospital twice a month giving therapy to the subacute rehab population.

Thom grew up with 3 brothers and 3 sisters and went to school in Algonquin. He worked as a lifeguard and Manager for the Village of Algonquin while in High School. He then worked as a rehab tech while in school in Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills, McHenry, and Woodstock. When Thom is not working he enjoys hiking, traveling, and anything baseball related. He is an avid Cubs fan and loves talking about the team’s rich history. He also is a big advocate for special needs and regularly volunteers at Gigi’s Playhouse in McHenry.

Thom’s background of working and going to school locally has taught him the importance of giving back to the community. He loves working and supporting the community that he lives in because it has given so much to him. He is a firm believer in the saying that “We are not in the healthcare business serving people, we are in the people business serving healthcare.
