Illinois Bone & Joint Institute is proud to announce an expanded partnership with the Chicago Wolves, bringing its sports medicine and rehabilitation services directly to the Rosemont Ice Arena.
“We're really excited to be partnering with the Chicago Wolves,” said Cory Leman, director of the Health Performance Institute. “For years, we've worked with youth hockey in the Chicagoland area at the AA and AAA amateur levels. Now, to be more fully integrated at the professional level shows our commitment to hockey.”
This collaboration marks a milestone in IBJI’s long-standing support of the sport, reinforcing its dedication to athlete safety, injury prevention, and performance optimization.
Proximity That Makes a Difference
By housing an IBJI clinic within the Rosemont Ice Arena, players now have immediate access to care without ever leaving the facility.
“Having IBJI in the same facility has been awesome for our organization,” said Wendell Young, vice chairman of the Chicago Wolves. “We know when a player gets hurt, he just walks across the hall, gets the proper rehab to get back on the ice quicker.”
The integration also streamlines communication between medical professionals and coaching staff, ensuring every athlete receives timely, coordinated, and high-quality care.
Expert Care, On and Off the Ice
IBJI’s physical therapists take a hands-on approach that connects clinic work directly to performance on the ice.
“A typical day working with a Chicago Wolf starts with a full evaluation,” explained Jenna Tarran, the Chicago Wolves' head physical therapist. “I assess their deficits and plan their treatment to be as specific to hockey as possible...then observe their movement patterns...and what we need to work on in clinic that will carry over to what they need to achieve on the ice.”
This hockey-centered methodology helps players recover faster and return to play stronger, with therapy plans built around real game demands.
Commitment to Excellence
For both IBJI and the Chicago Wolves, the partnership reflects shared values: trust, accessibility, and athlete-first care. With a focus on long-term health and performance, the collaboration sets a new benchmark for integrated sports medicine in professional hockey.
