Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein believes that exceptional orthopedic care begins with listening. He takes the time to understand each patient’s goals, clearly explain treatment options, and develop individualized plans that help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Goldstein is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction, with expertise in primary and revision joint replacement surgery. He is a partner at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) and is committed to helping patients restore mobility, relieve pain, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Goldstein specializes in treating arthritis and other conditions affecting the hip and knee. His practice includes primary hip and knee replacement as well as complex revision surgery for failed joint replacements, including cases involving implant loosening, instability, infection, periprosthetic fracture, and other challenging reconstructive problems. He is fellowship-trained in the direct anterior approach to total hip replacement and has extensive experience utilizing modern technologies and evidence-based techniques to optimize patient outcomes.

A native of Chicago, Dr. Goldstein earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania before returning home to attend Rush Medical College and complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then completed fellowship training in adult hip and knee reconstruction at the OrthoCarolina Hip & Knee Center, one of the nation’s premier programs for joint replacement surgery.

In addition to his busy clinical practice, Dr. Goldstein serves as Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. In this role, he works closely with physicians, hospital leaders, and trainees to advance quality, safety, education, and patient care. He is actively involved in the education of orthopedic residents from the University of Illinois at Chicago and enjoys mentoring the next generation of surgeons.

Dr. Goldstein has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career. He serves on the Board of Managers of Illinois Bone & Joint Institute and is President of the Illinois Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, representing more than 800 orthopedic surgeons across the state. Nationally, he is an active member of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Committed to advancing the field of joint replacement surgery, Dr. Goldstein participates in ongoing clinical research, regularly presents at local and national meetings, serves as an abstract reviewer for the AAHKS Annual Meeting, and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Arthroplasty.

When not focusing on orthopedics, Dr. Goldstein enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children.
