Biography

Dr. Michael Burton is a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon with expertise in the management of complex musculoskeletal conditions in children. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago where he received the Leo Weinstein, MD Award for Excellence in Patient Care, followed by advanced fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Burton also holds both a Master of Science in global health and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and pre-professional studies from the University of Notre Dame. 

Dr. Burton’s clinical interests include the treatment of fractures, scoliosis, hip disorders, clubfoot, and limb deformities. He has published research on pediatric fractures, limb deformities, and rare bone conditions in leading orthopedic journals. In addition, he has participated in international medical outreach, providing healthcare to children in underserved regions of Colombia and Ecuador. 

Dr. Burton is dedicated to providing compassionate, family-centered care while applying the latest advances in pediatric orthopedics to help each child heal, grow, and reach their full potential. When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Burton enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, exploring Chicago’s music and food scene, going for runs, and cheering on Chicago and Notre Dame sports.
