Tommaso is a graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in May 2018. Tommaso also received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Kinesiology – Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Throughout his graduate career, Tommaso completed clinical rotations in a variety of settings including, DayRehab at Shirley-Ryan AbilityLab, which sparked an interest in neuromuscular rehabilitation. Tommaso has treated a wide range of impairments, and being fluent in both Italian and Spanish languages has allowed Tommaso to connect with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Tommaso’s clinical interests include orthopedics, specifically sports medicine. He has worked with many athletes, athletic organizations, and teams such as the Chicago Red Stars; Chicago Women’s Professional soccer team.
Prior to beginning his career at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, Tommaso worked as a rehabilitation-aide since 2014 in his hometown, Elmhurst, Illinois. Tommaso enjoys volunteering in local community events, advocating for the profession, educating new clinicians, and has a passion for learning. In his personal time, Tommaso enjoys spending time with his family, weight training, playing soccer, basketball, football, and traveling whenever possible.
