Biography

Dusty joined IBJI in September 2019 with a primary focus on hand and upperextremity surgery. She has been working as an orthopedic PA since 2014, when she began her career in orthopedic trauma and joint replacement surgery in herhometown of Huntsville, Alabama. In 2016, she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she provided broad orthopedic care across multiple subspecialtiesfor the Alaska Native population.

Throughout her training in athletic training and physician assistant studies, shehas always prioritized a team approach to patient care, not only between thehealthcare providers but also including patients as active participants in theirown treatment. She feels that the best practice of medicine includes empathy,compassion, communication, and mutual respect between the provider andthe patient.

Outside of work, Dusty enjoys playing softball and pickleball, snowboarding, biking, camping, and traveling the world. Being an active and independentperson herself, she understands the mental and physical toll an acute injury orchronic condition can take on a patient's life. Dusty's treatment goal for everypatient is to help them regain their quality of life and get back to doing theactivities they love.
