“I spend time listening to my patients’ concerns and respond with the best treatment options.”
Dr. Scott Jacobsen is a podiatrist and had particular experience in treating sports injuries, heel pain, diabetic wounds and performing joint replacement surgery. Dr. Jacobsen provides the latest forms of treatment, including minimally invasive heel pain surgery, new plate and screw technologies and new implants, all of which speed recovery times.
His interest in science and working with people led Dr. Jacobsen to become a physician. He chose his specialty after shadowing a podiatrist while he was in college and liking the variety of the physician’s practice and the doctor’s ability to produce immediate improvements in patients’ health.
In addition to his practice as a physician, Dr. Jacobsen builds furniture and plays several musical instruments, which give him an added appreciation of the importance of healthy joints.
In providing care, Dr. Jacobsen takes time to listen to patients to make sure he understands their problem and chooses the proper treatment. He provides patients with options and leaves the final decision about treatment to them. He takes steps to minimize any discomfort during treatment and to follow up with patients afterwards to make sure the treatment is successful.
IBJI providers are participating providers in the following workers’ compensation Preferred Provider Programs (PPP):
“Dr Jacobsen is knowledgeable and compassionate with his patients. I would see no other podiatrist.”
“Dr. Jacobsen and Kristi are absolutely hands down the dynamic duo! Wouldn’t go anywhere else!”
“Efficient and no-nonsense. He lets you know what the issue is and how to resolve it. His appointment schedule is quite flexible and he is good to work with.”
“Dr. Jacobsen is an outstanding physician who cares deeply about his patients. He really listens and develops a thoughtful plan to help the patient heal. He does not rush to inject or cut. Instead, he works to leave no stone unturned. If a cortisone injection is ultimately required, he administers it in the most humane way. First he applies a thorough local anesthetic in a way that is painless. Then he injects an ample amount of cortisone guided by ultrasound. This is all designed to manage pain in the most humane way. It should be the standard of care but it absolutely is not. The more typical cortisone approach is via straight injection which is excruciatingly painful on top of an already horrendous pain. I am so grateful to Dr. Vora for referring me to Dr. Jacobsen. Dr. Vora is extremely knowledgeable and thorough too – he did a great job for my ankle.”
