Biography
Christie is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with nearly 10 years of advanced practice clinical experience with a growing specialization in obesity medicine. Before joining OrthoHealth, Christie worked in diverse clinical settings including aesthetics, acute care, long-term care, and pediatrics. She also served as a clinical instructor for nursing students at her alma mater Chamberlain University, reflecting her enthusiasm for mentorship and lifelong learning. Originally drawn to teaching, Christie found her calling in healthcare, where she blends both passions by placing a strong emphasis on patient education. She believes that informed patients feel more confident, empowered, and successful in achieving their health goals. Prior to this, Christie worked as a nursing assistant and registered nurse at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital on a medical telemetry unit for six years prior to becoming a nurse practitioner.
Christie has a true passion for obesity medicine, especially because the knowledge she gains benefits not only her patients, but also herself and her family. This personal connection drives her commitment to helping others achieve long-term wellness. Christie is currently pursuing her obesity medicine certification and is grateful and honored to be learning under the mentorship of Dr. Inbar Kirson, Dr. Lynn Gettleman Chehab, and Dr. Paula Hughes-Barnes.
Outside of work, Christie enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two daughters. You’ll often find them going for family walks, staying active together, and embracing a healthy lifestyle as a family.
