Biography

Mark has been practicing physical therapy for over 35 years, including 20 years in the United States Navy Medical Service Corps. He graduated from Columbia University with a post baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy. He then went on to earn a Masters degree in orthopedic physical therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. He holds specialty certifications in orthopedics, clinical electromyography and strength conditioning. He has been happy to provide outpatient physical therapy care to IBJI patients for the past 8 years.

Mark is very fulfilled in his work, and especially enjoys working one-on-one with patients across a variety of areas, including  musculoskeletal  injuries, athletic injuries, total joint replacements and equilibrium or balance disorders. As a seasoned therapist, Mark has honed a philosophy of care that puts the patient first while embracing a collaborative method with his IBJI team to help provide the best care possible. His driving force behind every patient interaction is to see them return to their highest level of functionality, from watching young athletes return to their sports stronger than before, to helping seniors regain their independence. To him, seeing his patients overcome their physical challenges is the most satisfying part of the job.

Outside of work, Mark is busy being a husband and father of five grown children. He is active in his community and often volunteers his services at local athletic and humanitarian events, such as annual 5Ks and Feed My Starving Children. He is an active member of his church and is passionate in his commitment to faith, family and country.
