The overarching purpose of nutrition counseling is to improve metabolic health. We help patients lose weight but even more importantly, clients find that blood sugar, lipids, and blood pressure improve significantly with dietary maximization.
Here at IBJI, we start fresh and work on education and providing effective tools such as meal planning and menu development to stop the rollercoaster of weight gain and frustration. We work with both adults and adolescents – striving to help individuals and families develop and celebrate good eating habits for a lifetime.
A team of health providers, including a physician, health coach, and physical therapist can be working in conjunction with the registered and licensed dietitian to provide you with a comprehensive nutrition plan. Our team approach guides you to achieve your goals using food, movement and also medicine if that is needed, all individualized for you. Timely sessions, with telehealth options, are scheduled with the dietitian as well as with the health coach and doctor.
From not drinking enough fluids to not eating enough food, many athletes may not realize what their individual nutritional needs are, or that nutrition can improve their performance. That’s where IBJI sports nutrition can help you reach peak performance. You’ll meet with an expert sports dietitian who will design a customized plan packed with recommendations based on your training, lifestyle, health history and goals.
Pre- and Post-Operative Nutrition
The proper nutrition can help your body prepare for surgery as well as enhance the healing process after surgery. The dietitian will help you map out nutrient goals prior to your procedure and focus on intake following surgery for optimal healing. Our nutrition guidance will help you get back to doing the things you enjoy as soon as possible.
Pre-diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes
Getting a diagnosis of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes can be scary, but our experts in metabolic health are here to help guide you through medical nutrition therapy which can be extremely effective in reversing elevated blood sugar. We are experienced and know that these diagnoses can feel overwhelming. But rest assured there is something you can do to help change the course of these conditions. And it starts in your kitchen. You’ll learn how foods affect blood sugar and we will help you create both a pantry and a lifestyle that will enable metabolic regulation as well as weight loss.
Adolescent Sports Nutrition
Nutrition usually takes a back burner for many young athletes focused on practices and games. Our adolescent sports nutrition program helps young athletes identify practical ways for eating well to improve performance, growth and strength to prevent injury. We will assist you in mapping out daily fueling strategies leading up to and including tournaments.
Bone Health Nutrition
Building and rebuilding strong bones takes the right kind of nutrition. It’s not only about what you should eat but also about eliminating the foods that can be harming your bone health. The dietitian guides patients with newly diagnosed osteopenia, osteoporosis and other bone health diagnoses. Changing daily intake can help improve bone density and overall bone health using recommendations provided.
