OrthoHealth Program

What is OrthoHealth? An exclusive IBJI program that offers a collaborative approach to improve your health and wellness.

Who will be involved in my care? Our team of Registered Dietitians and Board Certified Health Coaches compliment our Physical Therapist’s treatment plan to meet you where you are and guide you through a personal lifestyle transformation. This approach allows us to take your care to its full potential and keep you moving and living at your best.

Why is this program for me? Whether you want to improve your physical performance, reduce persistent pain, prevent injury, or enhance your overall energy, our team of health care professionals are offering services at all of our IBJI facilities to customize a plan of care to optimize your health and wellness.

How it can help you:

  • Enhance Performance: Do you feel ready for a bigger challenge, or have goals you are striving for. How do you get there? The OrthoHealth team will educate you in the importance of training with efficient movement and design a program to improve your strength, energy, and overall metabolism.
  • Reduce Stress: Is stress taking a toll on your health? Do you feel tired or drained some days? The OrthoHealth team will explore your lifestyle and assist you in creating habits to be the best version of yourself.
  • Pain-free Movement: You have tried physical therapy, occupational therapy and have made progress but you are still looking for improvement. The OrthoHealth team can assess your current lifestyle and take a whole-body approach to help you continue to better understand and address your pain.
  • Optimize Nutrition: Learning proper nutrition to fuel your body is the key to performance and recovery. We can educate you on your daily intake of protein, vitamins, minerals and proper hydration to optimize your energy and fitness.
  • Sleep: Sleep is a critical component of health. With our sleep partners, The Center for Sleep Medicine, we can evaluate current sleep patterns and sleep hygiene and if needed set up interventions to improve quality or quantity sleep which will reduce overall stress hormones and boost energy levels and metabolism.

How to Enroll

Making a change can be a challenge, but if you are ready for change we are here to help you move and live better.  Signing up is simple, just reach out to our intake coordinator and he will help you get started.

Our program is designed to meet a wide variety of needs and is customized to your goals. It is ideal for anyone who is ready to take a supported approach to improving their health.

The Physical Therapist will assess how you move, your strengths and limitations, and design a plan that lets you exercise and move efficiently. We will work with you to find a program that maximizes your function and minimizes any pain that may be limiting you from reaching your goals.

Your therapist will continuously monitor your physical progress and modify your program as you become stronger. They can also answer any questions that you may have about the OrthoHealth program and help guide you through the process if necessary.

Nutrition Counseling focuses on educating you on the basics of nutrition and how to apply this to your everyday food and beverage choices. The focus is not on any specific diet, but on eating whole, real foods that you can use to fuel your body to move and perform better.

The Health Coach partners with you to establish what your health goals are and guides you through a process of sustainable change based on the goals you are setting during Physical Therapy and Nutrition Counseling. They will also coordinate any specific care you may need to reach your goals with outside referral partners. Our coaches have a vast network of providers in areas specializing in sleep, behavioral counseling, mental health and chronic fatigue.

Their goal is always centered around you, creating a customized plan with our in-network providers and our referral partners guiding you to create new habits that will help you be the best version of yourself.

All elements of the OrthoHealth program are important to achieving change. You may interact with Nutrition, Health Coaching or Physical Therapy more or less as you move forward in the program, but they are always there for you as a resource to support you.

Benefits for the program vary for every individual’s insurance. We are credentialed with most providers and are finding that most insurance plans are providing coverage for the OrthoHealth program.  As a reference, out-of-pocket costs for the initial Nutrition evaluation is $150 for the hour and follow up appointments are $62.50. Out-of-pocket costs for Health Coaching is $40 per visit.

As your OrthoHealth providers, we are here for you and, with your permission, we can also communicate with your other health care providers, to ensure that you have your full care team working together to help achieve your goals. We suggest that you bring your most recent lab work from your annual physical and, if appropriate, we can set collaborative goals to improve for example your lipid profile, fasting blood glucose and your blood pressure.

Also, plan to arrive in comfortable clothing suitable for exercise and proper supportive footwear for your physical therapy appointment.

Metabolic testing is a tool that enables us to utilize science to develop the most effective way for your body to respond to exercise. There is no one-size-fits-all method and having access to the results of your personalized testing is one of the factors that enable us to customize your program. Specifically, the data will assist us in building a program that will set ideal heart rate zones during various types of exercises, along with proper work-rest ratios. The end result will create optimal conditions for your body to respond to your program.
