Biography
Michelle M., OTR/L received her Masters and Doctorate in Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2021 and 2022. She also graduated from UIC in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences and a minor in Disability & Human Development. Michelle completed advanced practicum experiences at Northwestern Center for Surgery of the Hand and Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, working with a variety of orthopedic conditions and receiving training in orthotic fabrication.
Michelle aims to develop a trusting relationship with her clients to address their needs and focus on what is important to them. Through creativity and collaboration, she strives to develop a client-centered and functional plan of care. Michelle is an active member in the Chicago Metro Hand Study Group and American Society of Hand Therapy.
Outside of the clinic, Michelle enjoys ceramics and art, traveling abroad, and exploring new restaurants in Chicago. She also assists with the orthotic fabrication labs and lectures within UIC’s OT curriculum. Michelle loves the creative components of orthotic fabrication, as it emphasizes that OT is both an art and a science.
