DES PLAINES, Ill., September 1, 2021—Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI), one of the largest independent, physician-owned orthopaedic practices in the United States, is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Jacob Babu, Dr. Alexander Crespo, Dr. Daniel Dean, and Dr. William Mosenthal to its practice.
Jacob Babu, MD, MHA, is dual-fellowship trained in spine surgery and orthopedic trauma surgery, and will be practicing at IBJI’s Grayslake, Gurnee, Lake Bluff, and Libertyville locations. Dr. Babu specializes in comprehensive spine surgical care in adults and adolescents including nonoperative management of spine conditions, minimally invasive spine surgery, complex spinal reconstruction, motion-sparing procedures, spinal infections, and traumatic injuries.
Alexander Crespo, MD is fellowship-trained in orthopedic trauma, and will be practicing out of IBJI’s Chicago offices in Avondale and Lakeview West. His primary areas of interest include fracture care and repair, including the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of broken bones, and total hip arthroplasty. Dr. Crespo treats injuries that vary in acuity and complexity, ranging from broken wrists and ankles to complex fractures of the pelvis and hip.
Daniel M. Dean, MD is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon, and will practice out of the Hinsdale Orthopaedics clinics in Hinsdale, Joliet, New Lenox, and Western Springs. Dr. Dean has specialized training in total ankle arthroplasty, sports injuries, flatfoot, complex fractures, and minimally invasive techniques in bunion correction. He has published numerous articles and presented his research on foot and ankle at multiple national and international meetings.
William Mosenthal, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon with extensive training in specialized back, neck, and spine care. He uses robust, evidence-based treatment plans and procedures and is committed to patient-centered care and optimizing outcomes for spine-related conditions, injuries, and deformities. His expertise includes computer-navigated, robotic-assisted, and minimally invasive spine surgery as well as disc removal, cervical disc replacement, decompression, and fusion. Dr. Mosenthal is available to see patients at the OAK Orthopedics clinics in Bradley and Frankfort.
